What happens in a consultation?

Using the ancient art of Nadi Vigyan or Pulse Assessment, a trained Maharishi Ayurveda Health Consultant can detect imbalances in the physiology, which are the precursors to disease.

The Consultant can utilise all 40 areas of Maharishi Ayurveda to tailor recommendations; these usually begin with recommendations for individualised diet, daily routines, exercise and herbal supplements to help correct imbalances, restore well-being and prevent disease.

What will I have to do at home from my side?

Maharishi Ayurveda is essentially a do-it-yourself program. It offers guidelines as to diet and routine specifically designed to correct doshic imbalances in your system. You may be recommended to eat specific foods for a certain time.

You may be instructed in self-massage techniques, or given recommendations for an easy exercise-regime suited to your constitution. Special herbal food supplements may be recommended, as well as the ideal daily routine designed to bring a sense of balance and well-being to your whole physiology.

How long will it be before I see some results?

Generally you will start feeling benefits within the first weeks of following the personalised health program designed by your Consultant. Disorders that are of recent origin will obviously respond quicker than more-established health problems. It also depends on the levels of ama or ‘impurities’ in your system.

Your Consultant’s recommendations will enable you to reduce ama effectively, nourish your physiology, and within a short time restore health and well-being naturally.

Are the dietary and lifestyle recommendations difficult?

Your Consultant will recommend a diet and routine which is specifically tailored to your needs. This will take into account your temperament, work and daily routine, your overall strength and digestive power along with your family traditions, so whatever is recommended for you will be easy to implement and bring the best results without strain.

Are other special programs and MAV therapies available in Australia?

In addition to a personalised diet and lifestyle program, dietary supplements to cleanse and support your body’s healing intelligence, your Consultant may advise other approaches to enhance your progress to better bealth.

These include the Transcendental Meditation (TM) technique, Maharishi Vedic Vibration Technology (MVVT), Maharishi Light Therapy with Gems (MLG) and Maharishi Aroma Therapy (MAT). In the near future the intensive cleansing therapies of the Maharishi Physiological Purification Program (MPPP) will be available in Australia.

This Multimodality Approach is explained more fully here.

How many Consultations are recommended?

It’s recommended that you have a follow up consultation within one month of your first visit to a Maharishi Ayurveda Consultant. If there is no major imbalance at that stage then a prevention-check of your pulse every 3 to 6 months is ideal in order to identify any imbalance ‘brewing’ and correct it before it develops into a disorder that may be more difficult to manage.
